Summary

The Midnight Library is the greatest book by Matt Haig. This book was published on 29 September.
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better?
Nora Seed had lost her job and her wedding got cancelled two days just before scheduled date at the age of 35.
Nora finally decided to end her life and at that time she finds herself eponymous library which is managed by Mr. Elm, who is the librarian of that library.
The shelves in library has filled with identical looking books. Each of the book offering Nora a chance how would have her life changed if she had taken different decisions.
Nora starts checking all the books from the library one by one. She starts realising more and more about things she had done or decisions she had taken.
At the end Nora gets back into life. Now she has changed totally after knowing more about herself and her decisions.

Overview

The Midnight Library is one of the best Fantacy Fiction book I have read all these years. The book has arround 547 pages. I finished read this book in two sittings. I enjoyed this book alot.
At the beginning I thought that The Midnight Library is all about the heavy regrets which Nora dwells, her sudden acts like cancellation of her marriage just before two days and at her teenage she told her dad that she doesn't wants to swim competitively, she walks away from successful band which she started with her brother and many more.
With just brief visit of each of the lives she might have experienced if she had reversed her decisions to show her, there is no life which is so perfect and that regret is a wate of time.
After this the book Midnight Library moves with the philosophical sessions with Mr. Elm. Here Nora explores more about her life and her decisions.
Matt haig has written many popular novels. The Midnight Library is a light touch fictional reworking. In The Midnight Library you can know Haig's thinking about heart, emotions, Mind and Souls recovery from deep depressive state which destroys life, dreams and ambitions.
The Midnight Library is not elegantly written but the plot has those page turning and engaging moments and also has great conversational dialogues which will amaze you. Also this book will show you the way of positive thinking.
At the end, when Nora returns back into the world, she is now fully changed. She understood the meaning of life and the decisions she had taken throughout the life.

Weaknesses of Midnight Library

  • I couldn't find any weakness in this book. The Midnight Library is the perfect example of finding your own happiness.
Strengths of Midnight Library

  • The concept of this book is very unique, like your going through all your mistakes and events of your life.
  • This book teaches you to find happiness in your life.
  • The Midnight Library opens up infinite possibilities for us.
Quotes by Matt Haig

  • If you aim to be something you are not, you will always fail. Aim to be you. Aim to look and act and think like you. Aim to be the truest version of you. Embrace that you-ness. Endorse it. Love it. Work hard at it. And don't give a second thought when people mock it or ridicule it. Most gossip is envy in disguise.
  • A person was like a city. You couldn't let a few less desirable parts put you off the whole. There may be bits you don't like, a few dodgy side streets and suburbs, but the good stuff makes it worth-while.
  • Between life and death there is a library, and within that library, the shelves go on forever. Every book provides a chance to try another life you could have lived. To see how things would be if you had made other choices… Would you have done anything different, if you had the chance to undo your regrets?
  • Sometimes just to say your own truth out loud is enough to find others like you.
  • The thing that looks the most ordinary might end up being the thing that leads you to victory.
Final Verdict

The Midnight Library is one of the best book of Matt Haig. This book teaches you to find self happiness and to learn from your mistakes. How your decisions drive your life is what you can learn from this book and how you should deal with your problems.
Midnight Library explains the story from the perspective of Nora Saeed. How she found her in Midnight Library and how her life changed after that.
