Summary of Ikigai

Now this is something new i recently discovered. As you all know that, i am not that big fan of foreign novels. Yes i have reviewed novels like "The Alchemist" which also a foreign novel but thats the only one i have read all these years.

Obviously Ikigai is a best International seller book, and that was the 1st reason i wanted to read this book. So i immediately got my hands on Ikigai and started reading it. You can easily get this book from amazon. This book is available in English as well as Japanese language.

The Ikigai was actually written by two authors. One is Hector Garcia and other is Francesc Miralles (hopefully i spelled them right). I didnt knew about these authors, so dig up the internet. 

Hector Garcia was originally bourne in Spain and then he moved to Japan. Hector Garcia also has his own blog. This book is translated into 57 languages. He holds the honour of most translated books which was originally written in Spanish language. He also runs a blog at kirainet.com

Francesc Miralles, The full name is Francesc Miralles Contijoch. He is a spanish writter, a translator and also a musician. He wrote many novels before including Lost in Bombay(2011), The dream of the west, Balkan cafe, Jet lag and so on. He is a experienced writter. 

Japan is the country which is famous for their techniques, technologies also for their disciplinary working methods and also for manufacturing and crafting. If you're a Mechanical Engineer like i am (didn't meant to show off) then you must be heard about Kaizen technique, 5S methods, and so on. 
These all techniques are from Japan. In this book writters speaks about secrets for long and happy life. Hector Gracia who is originally from Spain. 

Overview of Ikigai

The book Ikigai which is of total 194 pages holds together techniques which will help everyone to grow their life standard and and quality.  
The meaning (Translation) of Ikigai is "The Happiness of Always Being Busy". It is different and unique for everyone. What you like to do, what you can be paid for, what you are good at, and finally what world needs is the existential fuel for life.
Without these life is nothing. It is the platform where discussion on topics like Social Entrepreneurship. If you know the purpose of your your life, then the concept of Retirement doesn't exists for you.
The authors (Héctor García and Francesc Miralles) had research on Logo Theropy by which they mean by Discovering purpose. This focuses on spirituality, future and reframing current context.
Peoples who lives longer than others, always has a positive attitude towards their life and also high degree on emotional awareness. Mediation helps to slow down the centrifuge of the mind. It also increases peace of mind and appreciate all aspects of life and enjoy all of them. 
Low level stress doesn't harms you badly but when it reaches to a certain level then you must do something about it. This stress can cause anxiety, depression, insomnia etc. Relience can help to overcome from any hurdles in life also we needs to adapt new techniques and tactics to overcome difficulties of life. 
Also this book speaks about concept of flow. The famous psychologist Mihali Csikszentmihalyi defined the concept of flow as " It is the state in which peoples are involved in activity that nothing else seems to matter" they are enjoying the experience of that activity so they do it at any cost. 
The excessive challenging situations in life leads to anxiety or depression and too easy situations in life leads to boredom. Cultivating the habit of discipline and taking one step at a time helps to pass through all hurdles into the flow. To sustain the flow concentration and focus are the two key factors. Too many interruptions and bad habit of multitasking may leads to reduced productivity, mistakes, wastage of time and the list goes on. 
All the successful persons are the fans of japanese techniques, weather they arr related to the production of something or are related to the living a healthy and happy life.

This book tells you exactly how you should leave your life. Which things you need to do which things you should avoid. I didnt found book like this yet. It doesn't matter where are you from like India, USA, England anywhere on the earth, you must read this book.
