Everything you need to know about Sapiens | History of Mankind

Sapiens A Brief History Of Humankind by Yuval Noah Harari

Summary

Humans are always curious about their history. They always wants to know who they were? how this whole universe came into existence? are they only living beings in the Universe? and all that stuff. We always wanted to know answers of all these questions. There are many books, literatures, blogs are written on this niche, but really they are that useful? Did they gave the right answers of these questions?
Yuval Noah Harari came with this book, and had put some light on Sapiens A part of history.
Sapiens is the book about human evolution. There was a time when humans were living in caves and used to hunt for food everyday. But now humans are evolved. They made many innovations and inventions which made their life easy. Now we don't need to hunt everyday for food, our medical facilities are also evolved with time. This all happened because of evolution of science.
At the beginning a few thousand years ago  many human species were came into existence and then vanished but the Homo Sapiens. We can trace trajectory of our species as the succession of three revolutions. The Cognitive Revolution, the Agricultural Revolution and The Scientific Revolution.

Overview

Yuval Noah Harari did great work with this book. He explained about history of mankind in depth. About 200,000 years ago homo sapiens came into existence. Many historians stated that these species were just a group of forging bands living in a forests of east Africa. Here we can feel that the author really did in-deep research on Sapiens or history of mankind.
As I stated already there are many writters who are doing research on ancient human and binding their own study in a book. But really they getting successful in achieving their real goal? We are looking to find these answers from many years, but still we are no where. We still have very little knowledge about our past.
The book is not about "fiction" but we can say it is a scientific research. We can sence Mr Harari's confidence with this book. They talked about all the revolution we are gone through these years especially in agriculture. We are now growing much more in very less area. Thanks to science because of which this is achievable. Noah Harari talked about the  development in agriculture which transformed the relationship between Humans and Nature.
But increasing in productivity really helping us. Population is also increasing with productivity and that is the big challenge infront of us. According to Noah Harari our Archaeologist and Antrhopologist doing hard work but still their efforts are not enough to gather all information about our past. Weather our earliest hunters were leaved a peaceful life or they were very cruel and violent? according to Mr Harari these questions are unanswerable because the data we gathered is not enough to clarify all things.
I was wondered knowing that Mr Harari was correct about Import surpluses. Farmers were growing too much from small piece of land. It looks like at that time humans had better understanding about farming than now. But unfortunately our archeologist can don't have anything to tell about techniques humans were using at that time. According to Mr Noah Harari our capacity for language allowed us to invent "fictions" and "myths".
Harari has a good knowledge of history though. He thinks that columbus started the scientific revolution and it is surprising. There are many historians and scientists in history stated that the term "Revolution" is problematic. We didn't found any source for Mr Harari's assertions about columbus influence on science.
It seems also odd that Harari's thoughts about Europeans. Their hunger to explore and conquer made them exceptional. He also talked about Chinese never tried to conquered countries like Indonesia and Africa.
Why all these revolutions are essential? Mr. Harari said " The leading project of Scientific Revolution is to give humankind eternal life ". Now peoples don't fear deadly disease because they know that they are going to be cured. This all become possible because of evaluation of science and medicine. Peoples are dying because of war more than diseases.
Unfortunately "The sapiens regime on earth has so far produce little that we could be proud of" Harari said. As we have developed the field of psychology also Mr Harari says that "Depends upon correlation between objective condition amd subjective expectations" is what we call happiness.
Expectations of humans are endless, because of that we are not satisfied with the things our grandparents enjoyed. Mr Harari thinks that " Our intolerance, discomfort and inconvenience is now so ingrained. He further thinks that "we may well suffer from pain more than our ancestors ever did."
Regardless of all these bad things (really bad things) humans will move on. We remade the earth and we will make ourselves or will make ourselves to live in this new earth or new environment. In few years the science will get more evolved and I won't surprise if humans magnifies their natural abilities. The possibilities in future are unimaginable. Harari state the possibilities that environmental collapse will again wipe out everything including our species.
I know that he review of this becomes too lengthy, but there is still much more to talk about. I will say you must read this book and share it with your friends.

Weakness

  • The book has a lot to tell about. But the book has too much to absorb. It won't be easy to consume all this knowledge.
  • There are few concepts Yuval Harari talked about in this book are not easy to understand. The history from the beginning will blow your mind.
  • He also stated few bad points of scientific evolution. Yes few of them are right but I don't think scientific evolution is that bad for human race.

Strengths

  • Yuval Noah Harari has good knowledge of human history. He gathered all of that at one place. Readers will find this book is very useful.  Your getting everything at the same place.
  • I can definitely say that this book will have positive impact on readers. The concepts from the beginning of human race are really interesting to know about.
  • If we understand this book with a positive attitude we can make many positive changes in our life. And which may improve our living standard.
Overall I liked this book Sapiens. We all had studied a little about human history in school, but that was nothing. That was just a small bit of it. In this book Yuval Noah Harari gives you a brief knowledge of human race and human evolution. Everything your getting at just a one place.
