Summary

I Am The Messenger is another best seller book by Markus Zusak. We already reviewed The Book Thief and Bridge of Clay, which is also a best seller by this great author. Markus Zusak is a 45 years old Australian writter. I Am The Messenger is a story of a young cab driver Ed who accidentally stumbles on to a Bank Robbery. But the local media makes him a hero. 
I Am The Messenger is the story of a young boy who is bound to help people who and fight against the evil ones. It is the fight of good vs evil. He recieves cards with addresses and other details and get there on time to help someone.
Despite of solving his first case(robbery) which was happened accidentally, he developed courage within him and starts helping out peoples. He starts visiting those places mentioned in play cards and always find something bad happening. He finds peoples who need help badly and helps them without expecting anything in return.
At the end the story takes mysterious turns and ends with shocking events. 
The book is quiet old and was published in 10 January 2002

Overview

I Am The Messenger is the story of a young boy Ed who is a taxi driver, and wasting his life in hanging out  with his friends suddenly finds purpose of his life. He starts helping people. 

Markus Zusak explained few events where our main charecter Ed fells in a relationship or we can say he fails for a girl and women. He solves a case of a 15 years old girl and starts stocking her. But he develops sensational relationship with Milla who is waiting for her 60 year old dead husband returning from war.

Don't make your view with this " relationship story of Ed ". The book is not just about his relationship the main focus of I Am The Messenger is on cases Ed solved. The thrill starts with that bank robbery scene and ends with some unexpected events. 

Events like Ed fights with rapist, interrupt two brothers whom having fist fight, kidnapping of his pet dogs, beaten up by mysterious associates of card sender main plot of the book Messenger. But after all these things, Ed develop relationships 

between him and the victims he saved. 

There is also an intresting character in story Audrey Eds friend or may say best friend. She didn't replied Ed's feeling really but still ed never stopped thinking about Audrey. Its different kind of relationship between Ed and Aundrey. 

Markus Zusak designed the character of Ed wisely and problems of people he helped. His empathy his finest trait. Markus made Ed's character looks like he doesn't care about anything, but is this really true. Whats going inside the Ed's mind? He starts developing deep connection with the peoples he helped. Ed also helps Audrey and other people's in his life.

Weakness of I Am The Messenger

• Despite of being a bestseller, I don't think "I Am The Messenger" is not enough good to reach heights of "The Book Thief".
• There is one more thing that I didn't like about this book, that is its Ending of the. I think It would have made differently. 

Strengths of I Am The Messenger

• The main character Ed is well established and delineated.
• The plot of the book moves smoothly and little slowly, so reader can enjoy every moment.
• The plot is full of clash between good thinking charecter Ed and his enemies. 

I would like to mention few lines from I Am The Messenger

•  I am not the Messenger at all. I am the message

This one is my most favourite.

• Sometimes people are beautiful.

    Not in looks.
    Not in what they say.
    Just in what they are.

• Maybe everyone can live beyond what they're capable of.

• It's not a big thing, but I guess it's true--big things are often just small things that are noticed.

• Believe it or not--it takes a lot of love to hate you like this.

• I'd rather chase the sun than wait for it.

A quick summary

I Am The Messenger is a story of a young boy Ed, who starts recieving playing cards with address and time and other things. When he visit those places he finds something bad happening at that place. He interrupts and saves the victims.

Later on he develops relationship between him and those victims. He gets beaten few times in meanwhile. You want to know why? Then read this book. 

So this was all about I am the Messenger. I would recommend readers to read The Book Thief first.
